The libero, explained

The one in the different color.

Her jersey has to contrast with her teammates' so the officials can track her. She can't block. She can't finish an attack when the ball is entirely above the top of the net. In NCAA women's volleyball, she can serve in one rotation.

Her job is the pass, the dig, the rally that should have ended and didn't. This one's for the people who stay standing until it does.
